About Us

Golden Coast Visuals

Golden Coast Visuals is a Los Angeles based wedding and event photography and videography team. Primarily, we shoot weddings in all of Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange county. We want to capture your special day and create timeless memories that you will enjoy forever. Our goal is to build a relationship with you so that by your wedding day, we can create effortless photos in a comfortable environment.

We take a traditional and photojournalistic approach to shooting your day so we can create a story through the images and video that we capture, and get the key shots you may want for your day. More than just recordings as the day unfolds we try to show what it was like to be present during the moments by capturing the emotions felt during this time. We use a mixture of available light, and off and on-camera flash to ensure that not a single moment is missed throughout the day.

Gerardo Rodriguez Portrait

Gerardo Rodriguez

Photographer

A Marine veteran, Gerardo served as an artilleryman during his enlistment; he is now an application developer, and has a keen interest in software and web development. Gerardo started making films during his last two years of highschool and learned the fundamentals of composition and enjoyed the cinematography aspect of film making. He started to develop a deep appreciation for cinema and delved into the works of many great film directors and found that these directors were also great cinematographers. To Gerardo, composition means everything in visual story telling.

Gerardo began his photography journey in 2011 when he first learned photography on a film camera, a pentax k1000. During this time, Gerardo learned how to develop film and process the film to photo paper with darkroom techniques. He immediately fell in love with the entire process and was hooked on photography from then on.

Gerardo now shoots with the Sony mirrorless line of cameras. His primary photography interests include Portraits, Events, and Landscapes/Cityscapes.

"My intention when caputring a photograph is to set a scene in every image, and make it so that the viewer feels like they are part of the moment."

John Aumrin portrait

John Aumrin

Photographer

Having only a handful of photos of himself up until his mid 20s, John was never one to take pictures and took an approach to living in the moment. It was when John picked up his first phone with a decent camera and started taking photos of his friends that he found himself enthralled with capturing these moments. One year, he attended WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers Expo) for the first time, and was in awe of all the technology available for photography and soon after purchased a Sony a6000, where he continued his photographic journey

John now shoots with the Sony A7 III, and his primary photographic interests include people photography.

"I want to capture joyful and memorable timeless moments that would make everyone look back and put a smile on their face."

Videography

Tim Santos Headshot

Tim Santos

Videographer

Tim began his videography when he was in High School editing video projects back at the end of the VHS era into the digital age. After filming and editing a project for a final, Tim knew from that day forward that he wanted to tell cinematic stories through video. For over 10 years Tim has a number of short films on his Instagram and YouTube channel shot on various platforms from iPhones, GoPros, and mirrorless cameras. A registered nurse sometimes, but a filmmaker always, Tim is always prepared to make a video at moment's notice. A couple of his favorite filmmakers are Christopher Nolan and Quentin Taratino.

He currently shoots most of his videos on the Nikon Z6 and his videography interests include weddings, people, action, and music videos. Check out his Instagram and YouTube channel for a look at his videos!

"Filming and editing videos is a true passion for me. It brings me great pride and joy to shoot a video and not only be able to relive the moments, but also to make it look as fun, cinematic, and memorable as possible!"

Jacqueline Avalon

Videographer

Jacqueline (Jacque) was first interested in film at age 9, when Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was made as a movie. An avid Harry Potter fan, she would never forget the magic that she felt as she watched the words she once read on paper come to life in a visual format. Fast forward to high school, Jacque would volunteer herself to be the director, camera woman, and video editor for any group video projects that she was a part of. She didn't see this process as work, but rather she would gain great joy in the pursuit of film.

While studying to become a Nurse, Jacque would find herself sitting in basic photography classes, learning the fundamentals of shooting and lighting. For some time she pursued photography, but would ultimately come to realize what she always knew; that her true passion belonged in editing and creating videos. Now as a registered nurse by trade, but a videographer through passion; Jacque finds herself envisioning videos in her head, and building scenes from the music that she listens to.

“To get on my favorite film list, one of my requirements is that the film has to give me an emotional impression that I’ll remember for the rest of my life. That’s what I want to aim to do for our clients on their wedding day, to give them that emotional significance that they can share and watch whenever they want to and remember for the rest of their lives.”
